DESCRIPTION: \nEPIPED is a 3 years cycle of independent annual training cou
 rses\n(2020-2022)\, developed specifically for child neurologists and\nphy
 sicians treating children with epilepsy.  \nPlenary interactive sessions
  and training modules cover different\naspects of treatment strategies in 
 children with all types of\nepilepsies\, particularly rare and complex epi
 lepsies. \nTopics treated are related to pharmacology\, pharmacodynamics\
 ,\npharmacokinetics\, analysis of AED trials\, design of clinical trials\,
 \npre-surgical evaluation\, optimal choice of AEDs\, review of existing\ng
 uidelines (ILAE\, NICE\, other)\, ketogenic diet\, neurostimulation\,\nind
 ications for resective and palliative surgery\, pharmacological\ntreatment
 s other than AEDs\, development of educational therapy\nprograms.  \nFor
  the training interactive modules participants are matched in\ngroups of m
 aximum 10 per 2-3 mentors to discuss clinical practices and\ndesign therap
 eutic strategies of concrete clinical cases. \nParticipants are offered t
 he opportunity to also bring their own\nclinical cases for discussion of o
 ptimal treatment approaches.  \nA pre- and post-assessment allows evalua
 tion of background and\nacquired knowledge.  \nThe number of places is l
 imited.\n
